WHEN MONEY IS NO OBJECT
Art Deco platinum, diamond and sapphire bracelet, $14,500, available at The Gold Hatpin in Oak Park.

In the last week, I've traveled to nearly every boutique, shop and store in Oak Park and Forest Park on the hunt for great holiday gift ideas. I've been amazed at the wide selection these stores have to offer and the great prices they offer their merchandise at.

Shopping locally at small businesses saves money on shipping and gas, allows you to see and touch what you're purchasing and keeps your money in the community. I think we've proved here that you don't need to go far to grab everything you need this season.

Shopping for Women

Shopping for woman can be hard—they like what they like. Still, we've managed to assemble a great collection of gifts for your wife, boyfriend, daughter or co-worker. The key to buying gifts for women—go personal and know their style. Can you picture them in it? Get it—they can always take it back. Here's what we found.

Try the Artisan & Crafter's unique boutique (839 S. Oak Park Ave). Not only have they been around for over 36 years, you can get the most incredible handmade items for local artisans for nearly 1/2 the price of the other "trendy, but rip-off" boutiques in the area. Oak Parks best kept secret !
