Pet of the Day

Want to give a pet a loving home? Here's how.

Each weekend, Patch will present a cat and a dog available for adoption through the Animal Care League in Oak Park.

Cats get Saturdays, dogs are on Sundays. Why? Alphabetical order.

This is Zippy, a perfect name for this Jack Russell Terrier. This four-month-old

guy has a real zest for life. He adores people and promises to keep you on the go. He needs a home with an owner who has some knowledge of dog behavior and training because he did show some resource guarding in his behavior assessment. At the Animal Care League (ACL), we hope that all puppies will get off on the right foot..er..paw. Therefore, we are requiring a $100 training fee in addition to the $200 adoption fee for this puppy. This fee will cover the cost of a beginning obedience class held at the ACL or will be refunded once the adopter has completed a similar class at another facility.

Visit Zippy and other pets at the ALC's office, 1011 Garfield St. For hours, call 708-848-8155.
