Sheriff Evicts Fiorenza Ristorante in Forest Park

An eviction notice was posted Wednesday at Fiorenza Ristorante, 7404 Madison St. in Forest Park.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday issued an eviction notice to Fiorenza Ristorante, 7404 Madison St. in Forest Park.

Court records show 74 Madison FP, LLC, represented by Wheaton-based law firm Clingen Callow & McLean, LLC, on April 22 filed a complaint against the restaurant, seeking damages of $17,922.

Attorney Tim McLean said Thursday the complaint was filed after the property owner had proposed a payment plan for the restaurant and received no response. McLean said Fiorenza owed $17,922 in rent at the time of the filing.

A Cook County judge entered a judgement on May 23 requiring Fiorenza to pay the property owner more than $30,000 after the restaurant failed to respond or appear in court, and additional rent had accrued, McLean said.

Fiorenza leased the property in February 2011, court records show. Fiorenza owner Bill Pierson told the Forest Park Review he hopes to negotiate a deal with the landlord and keep the restaurant in operation.

"It's unfortunate (that it had to come to an eviction)," but the landowner is entitled to the property, McLean said.

McLean said Friday he received an email from an attorney for Fiorenza, and he anticipates "further conversations" with the restaurant.

Patch was not able to immediately reach the restaurant owner for comment.
