Mahone was arrested three weeks later after shooting another man on a nearby bike path, when the victim was able to flag down a police officer. During their search for Mahone, officers found him nearby and realized that he had been shot in the leg. Officers recovered a semi-automatic handgun and discovered that Mahone had accidentally shot himself during the incident, according to the release.
