District 91 Seeks Feedback on Holiday Attendance

The school district wants to know what the public thinks of allowing attendance on certain holidays, such as, Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, Lincoln's Birthday and Veteran's Day.

Should Forest Park District 91 attendance be allowed on certain holidays, such as Lincoln's Birthday, Columbus Day and Veterans' Day? 

Forest Park Public Schools District 91 Board of Education will hold a public hearing on Thursday, May 9 to get feedback on a proposed waiver request to allow attendance on certain holidays, according to a memo from District 91 Board President Francis Mott.  

The waiver would include the following holidays: Lincoln’s Birthday, Casimir Pulaski Day, Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday, Columbus Day, and Veterans’ Day, according to the memo, which is posted on the District 91 website.

The public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 9 at the District Office, 424 Des Plaines Ave. in Forest Park.
