Fenwick Soccer Falls 2-1 in State Semis

The Fenwick girls soccer team battled Chatham Glenwood to a tie through 68 minutes Friday but fell just short in the Class 2A state semifinals, losing 2-1.

Fenwick (19-6-4) scored first on a goal by Caroline Murphy at the 10:06 mark, but Chatham Glenwood's Kelly Graves answered late in the first half on an assist by Ashley Musgrove. 

Chatham Glenwood (20-1-1) broke the tie at the 68:09 mark when Brendel Marshall broke away and got past two Friars defenders to score.
