Armed Robbery Reported at 7-Eleven: Police

Man with gun steals cash drawer at 7-Eleven early Sunday morning.


Police are investigating an armed robbery reported at 7-Eleven, 7749 Roosevelt Rd. around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, after man with a gun jumped over the counter, grabbed the cash drawer and ran, police said.

A 7-Eleven cashier told police a man talking on a phone was looking at phone cards before he walked to the counter, put his hand by his right side and yelled, "...Open the register, this is a robbery, give me the money!" several times, police said. 

The cashier reached for the panic button as the man jumped over the counter, grabbed the cash drawer, pulled it out and ran. 

The man is described as about 30- to 40-years old, with a short afro cut, possibly facial hair and possibly wearing a sweater.
