You Have to Pay for That Peanut Butter Cup

Jason Gray, 29, of Chicago, was arrested for retail theft after a Walmart store employee saw him steal five DVDs and eat a king-sized Reese's cup package in the store around 7:20 p.m., police said. Gray was given a local ordinance citation and released.  

Retail Theft at CVS

Police charged Sarah Lyon, 22, of Wheeling, with retail theft after a CVS security camera showed her stealing about $210 in merchandise around 1:45 p.m. 

She was processed, given an Aug. 13 court date and released, police said. 

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26

Pot Smoker Arrested for Giving a Fake Name

A 30-year-old Maywood man caught smoking pot outside in Forest Park faces obstruction charges after he repeatedly told police his name was Tony, police said. 

Responding to a call about suspicious people in the 7400 block of Washington Street around 4 p.m., police found Eddie Terry, 30, of Maywood and a 27-year-old Forest Park man smoking pot outside, police said. 

When the officer asked Terry his name, he told them, both times he was asked, that it was Tony. When asked his last name, Terry said, "Pshhh...," police said. 

Terry was processed on one count of obstructing identification and given an Aug. 13 court date, police said. 

Soliciting, Trespassing Citations

Police issued two local ordinance tickets for soliciting and trespassing to Jamie Jones, 25, of Chicago, after he tried to sell candy outside Walgreen's, 7200 Roosevelt Rd., around 3 p.m.
