Victim Petitions Against Pardon for Man Who Sexually Abused Her: Report

A Forest Park woman petitions Governor Quinn to deny pardon for a man who sexually abused her in Oak Park in 1997, the Forest Park Review reports.

A Berwyn man is seeking pardon for his 1997 convictions for aggravated criminal sexual abuse of two teenage girls, the Forest Park Review reported Thursday.

James Dutra, 72, who formerly lived in Oak Park, was convicted of abusing two Oak Park and River Forest High School girl students, now Forest Park and Oak Park residents, who have posted an online petition asking Quinn to deny clemency to Dutra, according to the ReviewHe was also accused of inappropriately touching four other girls, but not convicted.

Dutra told the Review he wanted to apply to have his record expunged so he could get a job. 
The petition on Change.org, which now has more than 500 signatures, reads: "Please do not grant James A. Dutra Sr. clemency for his crimes. …There is no reason he should be granted any kind of second chance and given a clean slate.”
