Knife Pulled in Blue Line Argument, String of Cars Ransacked

Forest Park police reports, June 20-21.

FRIDAY, JUNE 21

Retail Theft

Joyce Brown-Smith, 61, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft following an incident at Kmart. Store security said she was seen removing merchandise and hiding it in a bag she was carrying. The value of the stolen items was $95.86. Police said she was previously issued a local ordinance citation for a retail theft at Ultra Foods.

Wallet Stolen

A woman reported her wallet stolen after leaving it on the seat in an unlocked car while she went to a restaurant in the 300 block of Harlem. It was an $80 black Coach wallet and contained $60 cash and a credit card.

Drug Equipment

Richard M. Pulley, 39, of Cicero, was charged with possession of drug equipment following an incident in the 8200 block of Roosevelt. A woman called police and said there were people in her home who wouldn’t leave. Police said Pulley initially refused to leave, saying he lived there, and they noticed several crack pipes next to him.

THURSDAY, JUNE 20

DUI Warrant after Broken Glass

Police responded to a call at Blueberry Hill tavern at 12:37 a.m. The manager said a man threw a glass onto the sidewalk, breaking it, and then left. Andrew P. Gibson, was spotted by police and discovered to have an active warrant for his arrest on a DUI charge in Dekalb County.  

Several Cars Ransacked

Police reported several calls from residents in the 600 block of Harlem who said their cars were ransacked, but that nothing was found to be missing. Two more cars in the 600 block of Marengo were also rummaged through, and a bike was stolen from a home in the 800 block of Hannah. A car in the 400 block of Beloit was also entered, with about $10 missing from the center console. A wallet from stolen from a car in the 600 block of Elgin, and it contained five credit cards.

Aggravated Assault

Latoya M. Little, 29, of Chicago, was charged with obstructing an officer following an incident at the CTA Blue Line at 711 Des Plaines Ave. Police said Little and a man were arguing and that Little had a knife in her hand. Police ordered Little to drop the knife and she refused, according to the police report.

Weed Possession

Kevin G. Delgado, 18, of Forest Park, was charged with possession of cannabis following a traffic stop. Delgado told police he had some weed on him, and it amounted to 5 grams.

Drug Warrant Arrest

Kevin D. Winters, 46, of Chicago, was booked on a warrant for his arrest on dangerous drug charges from Cook County police. Forest Park police stopped his car after running plates and discovering the warrant. Winters said he wasn’t aware of the warrant but was recently released from Cook County Jail.
